safety information

effective june 5, 2026

hytch connects people who choose to share routes. hytch provides tools to help users make informed decisions — your safety depends on the choices both people make.

hytch does not run background checks. verification badges only confirm a phone number or organization email — nothing more.

01

verification features

phone verification confirms a user completed sign-up with a working phone number.

organization verification (such as a school or workplace badge) confirms access to an eligible email domain at the time of verification.

profile and vehicle information (name, photo, vehicle make, model, color, and license plate) is provided by users so others can confirm who and what to look for.

04

emergencies

if you are in immediate danger, call 911 first — before anything in the app.

after you are safe, report what happened through the app or by emailing support so the team can act on the account.

05

reporting and blocking

report unsafe driving, harassment, fake profiles, payment pressure, discrimination, threats, or anything that made you feel unsafe.

blocking a user prevents future matching with them. reports are reviewed and can lead to warnings, restrictions, or removal.

06

what hytch does and doesn’t do

hytch shows verification badges, route details, and profile info so you can decide for yourself.

hytch does not provide rides, employ drivers, inspect vehicles, verify insurance, or guarantee anyone’s identity, conduct, or driving.
